মনে জাগলো আশা,

শিখবো হকির ভাষা,

শিখতে গেলাম হকি,

পড়াশোনা দিয়ে ফাঁকি,

ভেবেছিলাম আমি হাবই,

ধ্যান চাঁদ কাকুর মতোই,

খেলবো তাহার মতো,

দেখবে ভারতবর্ষ,

প্রথম দিনের শেখায়,

শরীর ফুলে উঠলো ব্যথায়,

দ্বিতীয় দিনের বেলায়,

পরে রইলাম বিছানায়,

তৃতীয় দিন এলো,

হকি শেখার আশা মন থেকে মুছে গেল।
